Families hit movie theaters heavy this weekend as the debut of The Croods brought in $44.7 million putting it at the top of the domestic box office charts this past weekend. The political thriller Olympus Has Fallen starring Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart landed in second place bringing in $30.5 million on its opening weekend. Oz The Great and Powerful finally got bumped from number one after holding that spot for two weeks in a row, now in third place in its third weekend in theaters with just over $22 million. The Call with Halle Berry took the forth spot bringing in $8.7 million after debuting in second place last week.

Movies coming out this weekend include The Host and Temptation. G.I. Joe: Retaliation starring Channing Tatum and Dwayne Johnson hits theaters on Thursday, and for more insight check out the movie trailer below!

When I interned for Cheyenne Marketing here in Las Vegas we used to conduct advanced screenings for new movies about to hit theaters and we probably held a dozen for Despicable Me. After I saw it the first time I signed up to work the rest of the advanced screenings because I loved it so much, and now there’s going to be a second one! Heck yeah! Despicable Me 2 hits theaters this summer on July 3rd so check out the trailer below.
