Taken 2 made its mark at the box office this past weekend by bringing in over $49.5M and making it the number one movie in America right now. The debut of the new Liam Neeson movie made double what The Expendables 2 made on its opening weekend back in August maybe showing that audiences are more into quality than quantity as the holiday season approaches. The new animated film from Disney and Tim Burton, Frankenweenie, barely managed to break into the Top Five debuting at number five grossing in just over $11.4M.
Hitting theaters this weekend are a slue of new movies including the new horror movie Sinister with Ethan Hawke and James Ransone. Two comedies are in the bunch which include the star-studded Seven Psychopaths as well as the new Kevin James movie Here Comes the Boom. Last but not least is the drama/thriller Argo starring Ben Affleck and Bryan Cranston regarding the Iranian hostage situation in the late 1970’s during the Iranian revolution.
