Movie-goers are in the Halloween spirit as Paranormal Activity 4 took the number one spot in the domestic box office this past weekend bringing in $30.2M. Out of all the movies in the Paranormal Activity franchise this ranks third in opening weekend gross behind Paranormal Activity 3 and Paranormal Activity 2 that grossed about $52.6M and $40.7M respectively. Argo held strong in second place one week after its debut and Hotel Transylvania moved up a spot to third place beating out Taken 2! Alex Cross debuted in fifth place bringing in over $11.7M.
Opening in theaters this weekend is the dramatic sci-fi/mystery Cloud Atlas starring Tom Hanks and Halle Berry as well as the comedy Fun Size with Victoria Justice, Chelsea Handler and Ana Gasteyer. The surfing movie Chasing Mavericks with John Weston and Gerard Butler will also be hitting theaters and if you’re in the mood to get scared or if you're a gamer, you might want to check out Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.
