BLAKE SHELTON told the "Today Show" that his new album will be called "Based On A True Story" . . . and it's going to drop March 26th. He also debuted the video for his song "Sure Be Cool If You Did".

TAYLOR SWIFT is becoming so notorious for writing songs about her exes that some famous dudes might be hesitant to get involved with her. But in a new interview with "Elle" magazine, Taylor says she isn't using her songwriting to get back at anyone. She says writing about failed relationships just makes her FEEL BETTER. She says, quote, "To me it's just writing songs the way I always have. It's me sitting on my bed feeling pain I didn't understand, writing a song, and understanding it better. "If people want to dissect the lyrics, that's their right, but it's all coming from the exact same place as where I started. It's just something I do to feel better." She also claims she doesn't freak out on her boyfriends.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD is denying last week's rumor that she and TAYLOR SWIFT told the Grammy execs to make sure their paths would not cross . . . because they hate each other. Carrie was on yesterday's "CBS This Morning" . . . when GAYLE KING asked her about the alleged feud. Carrie said, quote, "No. Not that I know of. In every magazine, in pretty much every newspaper or gossip TV shows, they can just get away with it by saying 'a source said' . . . or a friend said or an insider said. I read the most ridiculous things about myself when people do that." Gayle then "sprung a trap" by asking what her favorite Taylor Swift song is. Carrie didn't bite. She answered, quote, "My favorite Taylor Swift song is 'I Knew You Were Trouble'. It sounded a lot different for her. I like the branching out.
