Sources are saying that LINDSAY LOHAN will be charged with LYING TO POLICE after a car accident over the summer. If that happens, she could be in violation of her probation for stealing that necklace last year. As you may recall, Lindsay totaled a Porsche when she ran it into the back of a dump truck in Santa Monica in June. When police first interviewed her, she told them her ASSISTANT was driving . . . which wasn't true. Supposed law enforcement sources say the Santa Monica City Attorney will file a misdemeanor charge against Lindsay as early as this week. If that happens, prosecutors in Los Angeles are expected to press the judge to throw Lindsay in JAIL on the probation violation . . . and they want her to spend up to a YEAR behind bars. As we've learned from some of Lindsay's previous exploits, she doesn't have to be convicted of lying to cops to be hit with a probation violation. She just has to be CHARGED.

"South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have announced that tonight's episode will be titled "Obama Wins!" . . . and they said that early yesterday, before the election results started coming in. In the episode, Cartman says he has "something in my room that can change the entire election." It turns out he has somehow stolen ballots from several key states.

Recently, there was some speculation that BRITNEY SPEARS would probably NOT return to "X Factor" next season . . . because she'd have to accept a pay cut. Well, Britney says she's game to do another season. A reporter asked her if she thought she'd be back, and she said, quote, "Yes, I definitely will."
